Te Ara a Tāwhaki is the central teaching and learning facility at Te Wānanga o Raukawa’s Ōtaki Campus, comprising a tiered lecture theatre, library and student hub

Pritchard Civil was employed by McMillan and Lockwood to undertake the site works and landscaping on this project.  Works involved the set out and preparation for the foundation slab, including timber piling, drainage and utility connections, concrete footpath, roading and landscaping.

Key project takeaways –

“As with a lot of site works jobs, we work alongside the building contractors; this requires good collaboration and communication between all parties so that works can continue unimpeded.  This site was particularly busy with a delay at the outset meaning the civil and building works overlapped more than usual.  Hazards were well communicated and any issues quickly resolved to maintain a safe working environment for all on site.”
