Project details

Residential subdivision alongside natural bush and birdlife

Works included earthworks, roman drains, drainage, kerbing, footpath and asphalt pavement.  The Kapiti Coast is characterised by rolling sand dunes with inter-dunal depressions comprising deposits of silt, clay, peat and sand which required a significant amount of undercut and replace with compacted sand.

Key Project Takeaways –

“Extra heavy machinery resource was necessary to allow the sewer install to progress unimpeded once we realised dewatering was not going to work due to a perched water table.  We used well points to divert water temporarily with roman drains allowing for the passage of water.  Our knowledge of working in this area under the daily supervision of the engineer were key components to the success of this project.”
