Prevention is better than emergency measures

For over 10 years, our crews have been out and about in Kapiti undertaking routine drain clearance by hand and by machine.  Due to the ever changing channel of water, our machines are also employed to re-align the river mouth to allow clear exit into the sea.

Key project takeaways –

“There is a vast network of small stormwater drains throughout private property on the Kapiti Coast.  A lot of the time they are are dry, but during winter and rain events they serve the important purpose of channelling stormwater flows as quickly as possible out to the sea.  The Council relies on owners to report blockages, often tree branches/debris, which we clear alongside the seasonal weed growth and build up of silts.”
